Medical Billing Professionals: Positioned for Growth
Randi Tapio reached a turning point in her billing and consulting business in 2007. She was ready to take Medical Billing Professionals LLC out of her basement and accelerate her annual sales goals. She had a clear picture of where she wanted to go. The problem: she didn’t know how to get there. After learning about The Buzz Company’s roll up its sleeves and results-driven approach, Randi looked to the firm to provide not only the insight and expertise to set a path for success, but also the manpower to take the necessary steps.
Attracting New Clients
The Buzz Company tag-teamed with Big River Consulting and helped Randi tap into a network of leading business owners for their advice. During a Buzz advisory board, Randi recognized what was holding her back. She had been devoting her time to managing multiple remote employees and servicing her current client base, and she did not have the skills or desire to generate new sales. “The ah-ha moment for me was realizing that I had a passion for this business, but I do not like sales and I needed to hire someone to do it,” she said.
Guidance from the advisory board led Randi to hire an employee who specializes in sales, marketing and customer relations. With little sales experience, Randi depended on The Buzz Company to provide the framework and training for the new employee.
In less than a year, Medical Billing Professional’s sales specialist attracted six new clients – nearly twice Randi’s original goal. “There is no way that I could do that and move (our office),” she said.
Building Loyalty
With a growing customer base and team of employees, Medical Billing Professionals saw a need to streamline the client relations process and create a system that would nurture client relationships. The Buzz Company gained authentic feedback on issues and successes from a wide variety of Medical Billing Professional’s clients. With client research and input from Buzz interviews, The Buzz Company then developed a customized step-by-step client relations system that triggers contact points and follow up opportunities with clients.
Randi says the Buzz Interviews and corresponding take action plan allow her to build customer loyalty and prevent small client issues from festering and affecting the company’s bottom line. Medical Billing Professionals has grown to a full service practice management firm that provides professional and comprehensive billing, patient accounting and collection services. The company has about a dozen employees and continues to grow.
“I like how (Tara) sits down and gets to know the company,” Randi said. “I like how it’s not a canned response. We have seen dramatic results in a very short time frame from working with The Buzz Company and implementing their client relations strategies.”
